Who is the hottest woman on Earth?

Well, that's a lot to ask of a woman, don't you think? Don't worry. I guess I just wanted to attract additional attention to this topic using such a title.

What I have in mind is, to write about any woman that we consider beautiful, funny, smart, sexy, worthy, strong, or just stunning.
It doesn't matter if she's famous or not; old or young; real or fictional. Actresses, singers, writers, sportswomen, politicians, a friend, a mother, an aunt. There are no restrictions. If she means something to you, she has every right to appear in here.
I think it would be great to add a picture or two, as well.
And don't forget to share with us why this or that woman means so much to you!

Today I want to tell you about Melissa Etheridge. She is a famous singer and songwriter in America. I believe she has fans all over the world but I know that she does her concerts in US mostly.
I can't quite remember when I've stumbled across her for the first time. I'm sure that nobody of my acquaintances recommended her; because when I mention her name, everybody as one asks who the heck she is. (Writing this topic, I finally managed to remember the first time I've heard her performing. I was watching a beautiful music video about Xena and Gabrielle as a couple, and Melissa's song 'I've loved you before' was playing along in the video. Boy, what a song!.. Someone from the comments was curious if Melissa wrote the song specifically about X&G (because the lyrics of the song are just right), and it got my attention. I started googling...)
Melissa is a lesbian. It makes her songs, at least, worth looking at, but I'm sure I would love her works even if she were straight. Her songs just do something to me. She sings about such simple things but in such a way, that it takes my breath away sometimes.

For example, that's her lines about a break up in 'Bring Me Some Water':

"Tonight I feel so weak,
But all in love is fear
I turn the other cheek,
And I feel the slap and the sting of the foul night air.

And I know, you're only human,
And I haven't got talking room.
But tonight while I'm making excuses
Some other woman is making love to you."

There is another song where she sings about a little girl from a small town who's happen to dream about great things but is taught that they are not for her. I think every girl can find herself in this song. I would highly recommend to listen to all lyrics, but I'll share just some of them. The song is called 'Indiana'.

"She came to this world on a cold night.
Papa turned his head and said I don't believe she's mine.
Single Mama raised her in a place where
You can look but never touch,
'Cause we don't have enough.
Don't let you hopes get high,

In 2004 Melissa was diagnosed with breast cancer. I'm so glad she had her partner to support her in such a horrid time. Thank God, Melissa managed to survive. More than that, when she was still going through chemotherapy which caused her to lose all her hair, she gave a performance with Joss Stone at the 2005 Grammy Awards ceremony. They sang a heart-rending song written by Joan Armstrong, 'Piece of My Heart'. That was an awesome concert. (You can find a video on YouTube, here.)

After these tragic events Melissa wrote a song called 'I Run For Life'. I believe it is dedicated to every woman.

And the fear is now a docile beast,

Also, Melissa is known for her sexy songs performed in her sexy, husky voice. One of them is 'Kiss Me'. Well, the name is quite revealing but the lyrics are still great.

I'll go anywhere that you wanna go.
Jump in my car, go down to that bar.
Pretend I'm someone that you don't know.

I'll ask you if you would like to dance.
I'll slip myself up close to your thighs.

I know that Melissa wrote a book with her memoirs, called 'The Truth Is... My Life in Love and Music'. I read somewhere that she reveals a lot about her songs in this book: why she's written them and what they mean to her personally. I think that would help to understand what she has been going through when she was writing them so much better. I would love to read the book.

And I'll add a video from one of her concerts. She sings 'Like The Way I Do' which has been my favorite since the first time I've heard it. The lyrics are just great. (Since it's a concert-video, Melissa performs it differently than as if it were a recorded version. But I like it this way.)





When she sings a couplet at 4:30, she makes a 'mistake': you can hear a line 'nobody wants you' which is not present in the lyrics. She made it up at this concert. When she smiles knowingly after the 'mistake', the crowd cheers and applauses. Just looking at her face at that moment, makes you wonder what's going on in her head)))

When pondering on a topic of a woman who attracts me I would think about my colleague. She is on the top management; I am on a bottom level. However, socials ranks and titles fade away in presence of true feeling and attraction. All her traits and features are my idealistic hopes I wanna see in a woman. Strength and confidence. She is not slim and it makes her more attractive for me as I am adorer of curvy shapes. She is my type: curvy dyke-like, sportive smart lady. She is former sportwoman and has let big sport to become very successful in managing people and organizations.
